In the summer of 2010, Nate and Dusty spent their days working terrible jobs. One was selling textbooks door to door to strangers in California and the other was approaching strangers on the streets of Seattle to donate money to a cause. Late that summer Nate messaged Dusty saying that he was coming back to Seattle and that they needed to start a band. Dusty accepted.
The two worked on some songs together and played a couple shows, but it still didn't feel right. In pursuit of more musicians, a friend sent Marshall their way to play violin. Things were starting to come together. The trio played a couple shows, but it still was not full. Finally, when Patrick and Chase joined the group with drums and
bass things finally became clear.
This 6 song EP is an introduction to Haystack Charm. We are constantly seeking to evolve our sound These recordings mark not only our beginnings, but glimpses at where we want to go. Some songs are meant to make you dance and sway, others are to incite contemplation, and there are tracks used as vehicles to release aggression. Amidst all of this there is a subtle theme of a "greater good."
